Lauralee Gooding is a parent, community volunteer, and advocate for strong public education in Pembina Trails.

First and foremost, she’s a parent of a student in the division. Like a lot of families, she’s seen how important it is to have schools that are not just safe, but actually able to support kids when they’re struggling and challenge them when they’re ready to grow.

Lauralee is currently the Vice-Chair of her school’s Parent Advisory Council, where she works with families and staff to make sure parent voices are heard and schools stay connected to the communities they serve.

She’s also a Girl Guide leader, where she spends her time helping young people build confidence, independence, and resilience, skills that go far beyond the classroom.

Her community involvement includes previous service on the Fort Garry Community Centre board, supporting accessible programming for local families.

Alongside that grassroots work, Lauralee brings governance experience as a government-appointed public (lay) member of Manitoba’s chiropractic regulatory board. In that role, she focuses on accountability, transparency, and making sure decisions are made in the public interest.

Lauralee is proud to be endorsed by the Winnipeg Labour Council. She believes public education needs to be properly funded, but also that funding should actually reach classrooms and support students and staff in real, practical ways.

She’s running for school board because she wants schools where kids are supported, families feel heard, and staff have what they need to do their jobs well without burning out.
